SHIFTING PERSPECTIVES ON WORMWOOD SCRUBS
On a VERY cold and blustery Sunday morning I gathered a dozen or so young footballers together. These youngsters are part of a scheme set up by the Down’s Syndrome Association and run by several football clubs around the country. Including QPR, Fulham, West Ham, Charlton and Cardiff. The scheme is called DSActive and was set up to provide children and young adults with Down’s syndrome a fair opportunity to get involved in sports, the emphasis being placed on the nation’s favourite sport, football. The programme was formed in 2006 and has continued to grow ever since.
The annual Shifting Perspectives exhibition is in March, so I feel like I am getting ahead of the game by shooting now, as I have already been to Cardiff and Charlton.
